Early Motor Questionnaire (EMQ)
The Early Motor Questionnaire (EMQ) was originally developed by Libertus & Landa (2013) and has been validated via direct comparison to the widely used Mullen Scales of Early Learning (MSEL) and Peabody Developmental Motor Scales 2 (PDMS). The EMQ is a 127-item questionnaire designed to capture motor skills of children between the ages of 2 months to 24 months. Three sub-domains are captured: gross motor (GM), fine motor (FM), and perception-action (PA) skills. The three sub-domains of the EMQ can also be combined to obtain a global motor development score.
The EMQ is publicly available at no cost, free to use and adapt.
